A new saddle costs more than most people's first horse. Meanwhile almost every tack room in the country has kit sitting unused because it stopped fitting. GrowTack moves the second into the hands of the first.
Who runs it
Two sisters, out of Pretoria
It runs between school runs and yard visits. One does the sourcing and the selling, the other does the pricing, the condition write-ups and the courier arrangements.
Between them they know the yards, the riding schools and the groups around Gauteng, which is where most of the stock comes from and where most of it goes.
What we hold to
Three rules that decide what gets listed
We do not inflate a brand name
A worn saddle is priced as a worn saddle, whoever made it. The label does not add a thousand rand on its own.
We say no to unsafe kit
Broken trees and expired helmets get turned away rather than quietly listed. If we turn something down we tell the seller why.
We keep credit moving
Sell the outgrown one here and put the credit towards the next size up. Plenty of parents run a rolling credit as a child grows.
